WHOIS is familiar; RDAP is structured
WHOIS is the traditional text-based service for internet number registration data. RDAP, the Registration Data Access Protocol, provides the same general kind of information in a structured format with standardized links and fields.
This tool retrieves and stores a registry response through RDAP. The result is presented as a WHOIS lookup because that is the common task name, while the raw cached response retains the structured registry data for technical inspection.
